Product Care

Product Care – Get Wasted
We’re all about giving good clothes another life, and that means taking care of them the right way. Whether it’s vintage or deadstock, these pieces have stories—and they deserve gentle treatment to keep going strong.
General Tips
- Always check the care label (if it’s still there!). When in doubt, go gentle.
- Wash on cold or hand wash when possible—heat can shrink or fade older fabrics.
- Skip the dryer. Air drying is better for your clothes and the planet.
- Use a mild detergent, especially for delicate or vintage fabrics.
- Spot clean instead of overwashing—less stress on your clothes.
Vintage Pieces
Vintage items can be more fragile than modern garments. We recommend hand washing or dry cleaning to keep them looking fresh. Be especially gentle with older stitching, embroidery, or embellishments.
Deadstock Pieces
Most deadstock is unworn and often still tagged, but it may have been sitting around for a while. A gentle rinse or steam before wearing can freshen it up. Treat them like you would any new, special garment.
Storing Your Clothes
- Hang structured items like jackets or blazers, but fold knits to prevent stretching.
- Keep clothes out of direct sunlight to avoid fading.
- Moth protectors (like cedar blocks) are your vintage knitwear’s best friend.
